Category: Tutorial

At the core of every environment scene, a thorough knowledge of lighting is evident. In this course, Unreal Engine 4 Lighting Fundamentals, you’ll learn about the different light types, settings, and effects in Unreal to give a scene a polished, fuller look. First, you’ll uncover the important concepts of lighting that so frequently prove to be a stumbling block for most as they begin their initial foray into lighting. Next, you’ll explore the tools available to use as your lighting solutions by using a pre-built and pre-textured scene of a wide crossing corridor filled with random objects and “greebles”.

Then, you’ll use different lighting moods such as cool, neutral, warm, and will mix them up by offering a low, medium and high-intensity setting. Finally, you’ll be introduced to lighting mobility, some advanced properties, and a few effects before sending you off to experiment on your own with the provided scenes.
