In this documentary, Leo Maguire is embedded with the migrants in camps known as The Jungle. He sleeps where they sleep, is with them as they try to evade security guards and police – following their desperate attempts to get into the back of lorries – and, in extraordinary and never-before-filmed scenes, waits with them in the trailers as they try to make it across the channel undiscovered. Shot over the course of a year, the programme follows a selection of compelling characters, who have each fled their homeland in the hope of starting a new life in the UK.
