Chapter 1:
The feud between Edward VIII and his younger brother George VI, featuring first-hand accounts from people close to the story, and new evidence from historians. Cameras go inside Villa Windsor, the lavish Paris residence of Edward and his wife Wallis Simpson, for a rare and intimate glimpse into their life in exile, while 103-year-old Georg Stefan Troller recounts his explosive 1966 interview with the Duke of Windsor.
Chapter 2:
Tension continues to simmer on the eve of the Second World War, as King George VI and Queen Elizabeth make history as the first British monarchs to visit the USA. Edward stirs further controversy with the release of an explosive memoir in 1951. The estranged uncle to the new monarch, Elizabeth II, watches the coronation on French television. Only in 1970 does a young Prince Charles clandestinely visit the aging Duke of Windsor in Paris to herald a thawing of relations.
