East Oaks Studio – Still Life Painting With Alex J. Venezia

Watch Alex Venezia paint a still life over the course of four sessions. He begins with fitting the scene within his composition and blocking it in with a willow charcoal stick. He then builds up layers of paint with a variety of techniques over the drawing. This workshop includes topics like:

-Comparative measurement for constructing an underdrawing
-Combining different painting techniques such as scumbling and glazing to capture texture in painting
-How to compare value and temperature changes to convey form
