Here is the first volume of the Joseph Campbell lectures put out by Big Sur Tapes entitled, World Mythology and the Individual Adventure. Like the second volume, it is made up of five separate lectures, each about 1½ hours in length. The individual lecture titles read:
1. “The Function of Mythology”
2. “Mythology East & West”
3. “India & Yoga”
4. China & Buddhism”
5. “Western Psychology”
Again I have included in the torrent a hi-res scan of the collection jacket, on which more detailed information about the lectures and the series can be found. I also included a list of other Campbell lectures put out by Big Sur Tapes (which unfortunately are no longer distributed by the company). The list came with the tapes and I thought it might be useful information for Campbell collectors. One of the lectures, “Freud, Jung, & Kundalini Yoga,” has already surfaced and is available for download as a torrent (quick google search), so hopefully some of the others will surface as well. I know that several are available for listening at the Library of Congress, and I’m sure other libraries around the country have a few. None near me, unfortunately. So if you enjoy these torrents you may want to check your local libraries for the missing lectures, digitize them and return the favor by sharing here!!! Enjoy.
