Description
Git was invented by Linus Torvalds in 2005 and is now the most popular distributed version control system in existence. GitHub hosts more than 4 million repositories accessed by over 1.5 million users. Git is being used by large and diverse enterprises, including a major stock exchange, medical providers, and game developers.
All work is on the command line, so familiarity with bash is assumed, but no other programming languages are required. Each lesson calls out pause points for students to answer specific questions, practice what’s been explained, and explore related points.
About the Instructor
Jeffrey Haemer is a Linux/Unix professional with more than twenty years of experience. He is currently a Senior Engineer at Aircell, and previously served as President of Canary Software.
