Simply Lightwave – Bullet Dynamics in Lightwave 11.6 – Volume 1 Fracturing Objects
English | Size: 680 MB
Category: TUTORIALS
In this five part series we take a project-based approach to using Bullet dynamics in LightWave by creating a sequence of four shots based on storyboards and concept art. We look at features of the Bullet dynamics system with rigid body dynamics, parts body dynamics and deforming dynamics, and how to control these types to get the desired effects, as well as rendering options with multiple render passes for the final compositing. In the first part we cover how to build and prepare objects for use with dynamics, and shatter them with ModelerÆs Fracture tool which accompanies Bullet dynamics. We set up a shot of a mug that is fractured by a bullet and then sent to Layout for a parts body simulation.

Simply Lightwave – Bullet Dynamics in Lightwave 11.6 – Volume 2 Fracturing Objects

In the second part of our Bullet Dynamics series we look at how to create the shot of a shell bouncing off the ground after a gun has been fired, using a rigid body simulation. We also cover the texturing and lighting of the scene, before setting up multipass rendering and compositing the final sequence in After Effects. This is a five part series where we take a project-based approach, by creating a sequence of four shots based on storyboards. We look at features of the Bullet dynamics system with rigid body dynamics, parts body dynamics and cloth, and how to control these types to get the desired effects, as well as rendering options with multiple passes for the final compositing. Scene files are provided, so the parts can be watched independently of each other.
