When the Cisco IOS XRv Router is booted for the first time, the router interfaces are mapped to the logical vNIC interfaces that were added when the VM was created. The following figure shows the relationship between the vNICs and the Cisco IOS XRv Router interfaces. The first vNIC that is added is automatically mapped to the Management Ethernet interface port. All the subsequent vNICs added are mapped to the router interfaces. A maximum of 128 router interfaces (including the Management Ethernet interface) are supported. [Read more…]

Pluralsight – Access Control Lists (ACLs) for Cisco CCNA 200-125-100-105
English | Size:420.17 MB
Category:CBTs

Access Control Lists (ACLs) are an important and useful tool on a data network. ACLs allow an administrator to select traffic and filter traffic as it flows through a network. In this course, Access Control Lists (ACLs) for Cisco CCNA 200-125/100-105, you will first examine how standard and extended IPv4 access lists operate. Next, you’ll learn how to implement each type of list on a router. Finally you’ll explore common errors and how to troubleshoot ACLs using Wireshark. By the end of this course, you will be able to write your own access control lists to filter whatever traffic you want to either permit or deny on your networks. [Read more…]

Introducing VLANs for Cisco CCNA 200-125 100-105
English | Size: 392.46 MB
Category: Networking

VLANs are a great concept and are widely used throughout the networking industry. The idea of a VLAN is simply that an administrator has the ability to configure a switch such that there are multiple broadcast domains enabled, and inter-broadcast domain communication is not allowed. Effectively a VLAN is a broadcast domain. In this course, Introducing VLANs for Cisco CCNA 200-125/100-105, you will examine VLANs, VLAN trunks, the layer 3 switch. You will also setup a problematic network, and make errors during configuration. Finally, you’ll examine both how the network will behave and how to repair broken networks. After completing this course, you’ll be ready to segment a network with a single switch using VLANs.

This course will show you how to use software defined networking with a virtualization solution in VMware vSphere. You will learn how to seamlessly manage policies for virtual machines with Cisco ACI.

Software Defined Networking is becoming an ever increasingly popular topic. With ACI you can use SDN technologies to manage your entire network, physical or virtual, from one management point. This course, Using Cisco ACI with VMware vSphere Integration, will build off the Fundamentals ACI course already on Pluralsight, but concentrates specifically on the seamless VMware integration into Cisco’s SDN technology, Application Centric Infrastructure. First you’ll learn about building VMM Domains in ACI with vCenter. Next, you’ll gain experience using the built in vSphere Distributed Virtual Switch as well as Cisco’s Application Virtual Switch. Finally, you’ll learn all about the ever infamous topic of micro-segmentation. By the end this course, you’ll know not only why this integration is important, but how to manage the policy of VMware end points the same way you would manage it for physical end points and even end points from other hypervisors. Each layer of the OSI model has its own critical protocols. At the transport layer, TCP and UDP are fundamental. This course focuses on the understanding TCP and UDP operation.

TCP is used in nearly every transaction users have on a network. Surfing the web, checking your email, watching a streaming video, all use TCP as the transport layer protocol. TCP has a very precise operation, and understanding how it works leads to becoming a great network troubleshooter. In this course, TCP and UDP Operation for Cisco CCNA 200-125/100-105, you will learn about the TCP three-way handshake, port number addressing, and sequence and acknowledgment numbers used for reliable communication. Next, you explore at TCP’s less reliable partner, UDP. Finally, you’ll understand where UDP is used and why you use it. By the end of this course, you’ll know how the TCP three-way handshake works, as well as how TCP uses sequence numbers to ensure successful data delivery. [Read more…]
