Welcome to the SD-WAN Mastery Collection – Getting Started (A-SDW-START) Cisco® Training on Demand course. This course was created for anyone who requires a solid foundation on the architecture, terminology, deployment models and core protocols used to enable solution operation.
With architecture, you learn how the solution evolved into a distributed architecture that includes a single pane of glass management tool called vManage; the controller known as the vSmart Controller, the orchestrator known as vBond, and the WAN edge router. With terminology you learn the use for terms such as: TLOC, Color, Site-ID, VPNs, and Transport and Service sides.
Since SD-WAN can be deployed in a variety of ways, this course covers the various deployment models including the Cisco cloud delivered services, partner offered, and on-premises options. Lastly, with protocols, you learn how Network Address Translation (NAT) and Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) are used in the solution and how the proprietary protocol, Overlay Management Protocol (OMP), operates between the control plane appliances and between the control plane and data plane appliances.

Locate the different workflows available in the vManage GUI including: Administration, Configuration, and Monitoring Tools
Describe the differences between the following deployment options and when each could be used: Cisco cloud delivered, partner delivered, and on premise
Describe how certificates are used to ensure secure connectivity between the vManage, vBond, vSmart Controllers, and WAN edge router and use vManage, to add a certificate to an SD-WAN device
Describe how the following protocols operate and are used in the SD-WAN implementation: NAT, BFD, and OMP
